 The software was simple to use with a self explanatory toolbar. Open an image... a few clicks and you can change any image into an outline drawing. As with any similar software make sure you work with a well defined image for best results. I enjoyed giving Traceline a try.

Create a text in any installed true type font and save the result as dxf file. So you can plot the font to use it for engravings etc. You only enter the text and click on "Save as DXF file...". The text will be saved as polygon line information in the DXF file. In version 2.0 a vector font is build in. So now you can not only render the outline of True Type fonts but also one midline font.

 NOT QUITE WHAT WAS PROMISED I suppose if one wanted an album creation program, it does nicely, but I expected more of what the program promised and didn't deliver. That is the ability to manipulate photos to make them more attractive. If something is accurate and honest in its presentation, I have respect for it. However, I lose all respect for a program that says its one thing, only to find out that it offers very little in actual practice as to its advertising. Nice for an album-oriented program, but bad for its delivery on it's promises.

I first downloaded Outliner (as a plug-in for Serif Photoplus about 2 years ago and have used it several times to try and achieve an \'engraved\' version of a few images and which has been partially successful. I presumed this was a later version which might be an improvement but I haven\'t yet had chance to fully evaluate it.Regards Roger Clifton

Bmp2Cnc reads the file in bitmap format (Jpg or BMP with 32,24,16,8 or 1 bit/plane color). Color or grayscale is quantified to adjust Z-axis depth, different tool overlaps, depths and tool radius are permitted. Final sizes of X-Y output can be scaled and stored into CNC files that could run with most computer numerical control routers and mills. Bmp2Cnc manages flat, toric, spheric and conic tools.

Bmp to cnc - it also does jpgs! Has nice step over info, stock to leave etc. Major distractor: not being able to save and actually cut is a major limitation. There are other programs that will let you do this but limit the lines of gcode generated - but at least you can test/cut/simulate to evaluate. rates a solid 6-7/10 for ease of set up and use. But I can't prove it's results. Can't run a sI'm (other than the built in) or cut something. It has a a good feature - machining time - can't validate it, but it is still a good feature. ...

Simply cam Convert raster images to vector. Nice feature - lets you select pixel size for despec/ and has the choice of centerline or outline (default mode). some scale features are included and, rotate, mirror, move, offset, etc. It's purpose is to get from a raster to a dxf. Docs say it will convert true type fonts into vector. Another nice feature if you want to engrave. it has several post-processor options fanuc, fadal, haas, iso, mach2/3, maxnc, shopbot, tecno-isel, turbocnc, and more. But, as save is locked out in demo I can't verify their fidelity. it only generated limited g code ...

GREAT TOOL After a short period of trying this prog became very easy to handle. I really love it. Maybe a short tutorial could be added.
 Quick and nice images I am concerned to convert .pdb files and other molecules 3d files to .dxf and .stlfiles for glass SSLE (Sub Surface Laser Engraving).I took some time but finally I could do it (from SweetMollyGrace examples .pdb files). I am glad for that.Unfortunately I could not import any other files like .bvp or .pov that I got fromBALLView program.Like this program would be nice to download any molecule formulafrom web.
